Well let me start by saying that it seems like a great product. I read the reviews on here (Amazon), and people were saying it was cheap. I will have to agree it is cheap, that’s why your buying it lol. Anyhow I used the patch pusher (I don’t know the technical name), pushed trough twice no cleaner and it was no problem. Then I soaked a patch half way with hoppe’s #9 bore cleaner and it was super difficult to push through, I did use the 9mm pusher, while pushing I did not want the rod to scrape along my barrel so I was keeping the rod as straight as I could. Mind I needed excessive amounts of force even with the included patches. And the damn thing broke when it popped out of the barrel. But it does include a patch puller so there is an up side to this product, if and only if you have ez-outs or thread something into the broken polymer threads that are broken off in you cleaning rod lol but the brushes, rod, t-handle, bristle brushes, and case are amazing so I give it three stars. The pushers are over size and will break just pull a solvent soaked patch through the barrel, let it sit brushe it, clean with dry patch pulling and then pull a lube patch through

For a product endorsed by Smith and Wesson, the boar brushes were a disappointment. Instead of using brass handles they brushes are set in cheap aluminum handles that are four sided crimped which in my case misaligned all four brushes slightly and leaves a lip around the brush stem. Straightening the brushes is not a big deal but for the price should not have to be done. I purchased this kit specifically for an M&P Shield Plus. I have used the product now to clean my shield once and am updating this review with some tips. The nylon jags are fine and will work to push a cleaning patch soaked with bore solvent.1. Trim the patch that comes with the kit down to about 3/4th patch and it will go thru easier. 2. Let the barrel sit for 5 to 10 minutes before running the 9 MM bore brush thru the barrel from the breach end. I had to use the complete rod with the handle the first time and then could use only the top rod and bore brush. Remove the brush after it comes out the muzzle end and do not run it backwards thru the barrel. I ran the brush thru the barrel 3 times and then switched over to a dry patch with the smaller slot patch tool. This worked fine to finish out the barrel. Again trim the supplied patch down to about 3/4th patch and it will work better. 3. Use the supplied brush to clean the inside of the slide where it contacts the slide rails. And then wipe down with a dry patch several times to remove the rest of the fouling which will happen. Probably with most pistol too. 4. Follow the lubrication directions for the Plus or your pistol. 5. Follow the reassembly directions. 6. I finished with a silicone cloth wipe of the slide outside to finish the pistol 7. Wipe down the outside of the magazines and wipe off the feed blocks of the junk from shooting. A dry patch will work here. 8. The last part of clean up is YOU. Wash hands with soap and a fingernail brush at least twice to get all solvent and other chemicals off your skin. The kit is a nice kit set into a soft sided zipper case for easy carry. I like the nylon jags because IMO they would be less likely to scratch the bore than brass jags which are standard in some of the other more extensive kits. First time using the kit the 22 caliber patch jag broke. I then tried using the eyed patch holder only to have the threaded part snap off. Absolutely the cheapest kit I have ever used. I really want my money back. Don''t waste your money.

Lastly why did you make it so you have to use both rods to clean the barrel? If you have a 3.5” barrel or shorter the T handle would be more than enough to reach through the barrel. But you cannot thread anything other then the other rod on to it with is way more length then needed to just run a brush or jag down the barrel. All in all it’s ok.

Whoever chose to make the jags out of cheap plastic should be fired immediately. They literally broke on my FIRST attempt at cleaning, because they have the strength of melted candle wax. That wouldn''t even be so bad, but once one of them breaks, the entire kit becomes unusable, because it gets lodged way down in the handle. PLEASE fix this very well-known issue, as otherwise the kit would be great.

So far it looks nice but as soon as i started to use it just to run a patch through the 9mm plastic pusher or knockout attatchment broke off barely got it in the barrel and it broke. Hardly any force used so maybe a defect in the peice.
