Along with their Artisan, Nomad and Tycoon decks, this is on of what I consider their top five decks, coming in at fifth place. Why fifth? For the same reason I put off buying this deck for so long; I find the backs are a bit flat and dull compared to the others.

First, top score again on their box. This is a dark chocolate brown, uncoated card stock that''s entirely printed with a gold foil stamp and embossing. There is some additional embossing on the box that isn''t foiled, and therefor quite subtle; almost too subtle. The box is sealed with a fairly thick foil sticker cut like a postage stamp. As with other uncoated boxes, this means the seal leaves sticky residue on the card stock that very difficult to remove. Too much effort on this can start removing the foil stamping in the area. This also means the box is more susceptible to moisture damage.

The deck comes with two identical Jokers, with a medallion design that is not on the box. Although it''s difficult to see, these are printed in two colors; the design is printed in the same dark chocolate brown as the backs, but the Joker index is in black. The two additional cards are a double backer and an ad card for Theory 11. The Ace of Spades has the medallion design in it, and like the Jokers, is printed in the dark brown color with black indexes.

The suits are standard art, though the red is a dark burgundy color instead of the brighter traditional red. The royals are mostly traditional art, but with custom artwork added, featuring a medallion motif on each, and new faces. These are printed with black, dark red, dark brown and a pale metallic gold.

The backs are all a simple two-color design, printed in a dark chocolate brown. I think it would have been nicer if they added some metallic highlights in the design, so I find this to be a bit on the flat side, and put off buying a set for a while, though it was always near the top of my list.

Overall, this is another top notch deck, from a group that has quickly become on of my favorites.

The cards are high quality Bicycle stock with the USPCC''s Air Cushion finish, so these handle very well.

I also considered (and will probably eventually buy) the Citizens and Monarchs, but these had just the precise look that appealed to me most. The stock is sturdy and reliable and holds up well for average uses. When you take this deck out of your pocket, people notice the beauty of the design. They know these aren''t the sort of cards you find in the inpulse-buy row while standing in line waiting to check out your groceries -- which also says a bit about your character in a subtle, unspoken way. "This person takes gaming seriously." Helpful Report fdesa124.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Very nice deck. Cons: ... The seal is coming off? As if not enough glue was used to make it sticky.

The main reason why I got this deck was because of the design and the brown color. I can''t find many decks out there that use the brown/mocha color scheme very well. But the real surprise was the tuck box material. It has that rubberized material feel that you can find on some phones (like some of the back overs of the motorola X or the Nokia Lumia 710... Don''t know how else to describe it.)

Fans really nicely. Dribbles reaaally nicely. A great all-rounder deck for cardistry, magic, and games.

I usually stick to plastic cards for my home game and thought maybe I''d give these a try, I''ll go back to 100% plastic cards.
