See, I''m sick with two chronic, progressive-degenerative diseases and only one of them is mortal. They say: "if you take care of yourself, there''s no reason to live a meaningful life". They could''ve added while your organs start failing one by one, little by little. With this state of mind, either you try to keep it fun (to some extent, don''t say "hey dad, guess who didn''t die today''s morning"... please, don''t be tacky). This book is exactly that, for sick people and even healthy ones, it''s always a good idea to have your business and your millionaire holdings (bah) clear in your head. This book DOES NOT have any legal weight, let''s say. But it''d be easier to just hand out this (big) book to your lawyer. As mentioned, the book is bigger than I thought but with excellent materials and paper. The idea of organizing all of one''s personal details for the benefit of the heirs is sound, but in execution, this book fails miserably.
The book is poorly organized, with duplicate entries of information like insurance policies. In some places it suggests that the user record passwords for computers, banks, credit card accounts, etc. while in others it suggests that such sensitive data be kept in a safe deposit box (which may not be immediately accessible to heirs). It asks for the location of your home safe and the combination or location of the key. Likewise, it asks if you''ve hidden valuables around the house, then suggests that their location be kept in a safe deposit box. The book itself is too large to keep in a safe deposit box or many home safes, making it a perfect guide for a burglar.
There is line after line of wasted space, like a college student setting the word processor to double space and entering questionable carriage returns to up the page count. The table of contents is woefully inadequate, requiring both the user and the eventual heir to search every page for necessary data.
I started entering everything in pencil, because things change, but the organization is so bad that I will really struggle to find the changed data, which may have been recorded more than once, everytime I change passwords.
