2. As my 1 year old is teething he can easily bite off the paint. He has chipped off all the paint on the railings and eats the paint.
3. Worst of all his legs have gotten caught neumerous times through the openings. My husband just had to rip off one of the pieces to get his leg out as he was screaming in pain! :(

It seems like the perfect substitute if you’re here because you don’t want to spend $500 on the Babyletto crib and honestly it’s way prettier in person. Assembly was easy (for my hubs) and it was very sturdy. When I was reading reviews prior to my own purchase, I decided to chance it when so many people were bringing up the strong odor and sadly we ended up being so disappointed. Pulling it out of the box, the crib smells overwhelmingly like varnish. We let it sit in the room for just under a month with the windows open during sunny weather to air it out. We wiped it down multiple times with a microfiber cloth, hot water, and tide in hopes of getting some of the smell to come off to no avail. We kept a fan blowing to help the air circulate. It was all in vain. Ultimately, I was so sad to decide to return the crib and purchased a different brand. I was truly bummed because it was perfect other than the smell - but as anyone can imagine, we can’t risk our baby inhaling such strong chemicals smells when he’s in the room. My biggest struggle with cribs is that I am shorter and can’t reach my baby in and out of most cribs without a second mattress (short mamas know the struggle). This one I do not have this issue. It looks so nice, was a breeze to put together (the first time took only 45 minutes and I did it entirely alone!) The second time when we moved to the nursery I had my husbands help and it took about 15 minutes to take it apart, relocate and rebuild. I love love love this crib! Our nursery is smaller but this fits perfectly and isn’t bulky whatsoever. It comes with all the tools you need and is straightforward. One person mentioned that it took less than 30 minutes to out it together, which I find hard to believe if you use the tools provided, unless you have previously put one together and dont have to read instructions.

Pro''s: Looks great, paint is uniform, installation was simple for the most part and most of all, price.

Cons: The tools supplied (Allen and green handle allen) did not remotely fit into the bolts supplied. In the photo provided, I used my own tools to complete the installation. A 4mm or 5/32 Allen did the trick. Also the swivel head 3/8" attachment made the first 4 bolts more simple.

Another thing I worry about is the wooden legs. They seem very cheaply made and seem weak. I was afraid when putting the bed right side up that the bolts that are glued into the legs would snap. I forsee this being a problem in the future if the crib is moved for cleaning often.

Overall: I would prefer to give this item 3.5 stars. It was annoying that I had to get the correct tools and the ones provided did not work. Also the wood legs seems to be the weakest point and I forsee that I may have to repair in the future. But all on all, for $200 I think that you pay for what you get, which is why I am rating this 4 stars instead of 3.
