I use them for portion control...they are just the right size. Now that I have a stack of this size, portions are easier to control for everyone. Fill half the plate with non-starchy vegetables, a quarter of the plate with protein and the last quarter with a starch. Meal complete. I eat fruit for a snack if I get hungry between meals.
Like all Corelle, these are thin and light-weight, durable, stain-resistant and a lot of plates stack into the same place a few regular plates would fit. Chip-resistant, too. I have broken many over the years, they don''t seem as strong as they used to but I''ve broken less of these than regular plates.
