These tapes are garbage. Don’t waste your money. Buy original, genuine Brother brand tapes. Look at my picture, sorry for the out of focus. The white label is from this knock off tape. The yellow label is from an original, genuine Brother tape. Same EXACT label maker, font setting, batteries and everything; only difference is the tape. And yes, I printed several times on these knock off tapes. I’m not sure how or why the font on these knock off tapes looks so pixelated compared to the smooth characters from an original, genuine Brother tape, but since the tape is the only variable in this test, it must be the tape. I did not check out the adhesion, durability, thickness, etc. of these knock off tapes as the print quality was an immediate deal breaker. And no, I don’t work for Brother.

They work, and are a notably better value than the first-party ones, which are increasingly hard to find anyway. I did note that they have a slightly more matte finish to the appearance, but that''s more "different" than "wrong".
Also, the adhesive on the back of these labels struggles with some surfaces, BUT that''s a problem native to the design of the original product, and not unique to this knock-off version. I generally run a piece of transparent Scotch or packaging tape over whatever I''m labeling to protect it and keep it in place, anyway.

ReportAmanda C.5.0 out of 5 starsVerified PurchaseI must have I actually like it better than the brother name brand tapeReviewed in the United States on August 9, 2017
I bought this for my ptouch label maker. I must have I actually like it better than the brother name brand tape! It is whiter, thicker, and more matte. The backing also peels off way easier. Fantastic buy!!!!

Print quality is excellent, indistinguishable from the Brother OEM tapes -- and these tapes are clearly superior to the Brother brand in one important respect: ease of removing the backing paper. These tapes have a two-piece backing, slit along the length of the tape, and it is SO EASY to get the two-piece backing off: just flex the end of the label a bit, and one side pops up and peels off easily. Flex it the other direction, and the other side pops right up. No more frustration trying to snag the corner of the Brother backing with your fingernail or a knife blade! I''ll never buy Brother label tapes again.

1) They "appear" to work fine, and are kindof nice 2) They split backing really does make it easier to get the peeling-off started (but it''s slightly annoying to have to do it twice) 3) They don''t stick super-well compared to original/name brand... you''re not just buying the label to print on, you''re also buying the "stickum" and the "stickum" isn''t that good on these 4) They seem to UV-fade over time compared to original/name brand. 5) They are matte, not glossy finish.
Basically, they "work", but seem to degrade, peel, and fall off. I''m glad I could buy "a lot" for "cheap", but I''m not looking forward to having to re-label a bunch of stuff as these wear out and fall off. I cannot recommend these for durable use.
EDIT: Added picture of labeled batteries in the same labelmaker. If you need them to stick, don''t buy these. This is all in a temperature controlled, air-conditioned, low impact home office.

Bought this for use with a Brother branded label maker as their tape is a bit more pricey. The value is great, and the tape has no adhesion/removal/legibility problems, but the finish to it is matte rather than glossy as the original tape was. This is not really a problem for me, but it doesn''t blend perfectly with the original tape I had used in my shop to label things. For the money, it''s still worth the savings, but I wish it matched better. Will post photos shortly.

While the exterior cartridge looks like the original. (same writing on the cartridge) The label tape definitely not the same quality as I traditionally purchased. The tape looks and feels cheaper and and when you use the cutter on the label maker. The next time you try to use it, the tape gets stuck and crinkles up inside the label maker. This never happened before with any previous tape cartridge I''ve purchased, but with this lower quality product. (I wouldn''t doubt for a second these are some Chinese knockoff tape cartridge) The tape crinkles up every single time if you don''t open it up and pull more tape through it. It''s just flat out pour quality.

The first thing I noticed was that the look and feel of the tape was different from the Brother brand - if’s more paper-y. To be honest - this is my first time labeling and I actually didn’t know or notice that I was buying an off brand... this difference was my first clue. I decided it was fine and I’d try working with it anyway but I immediately realized this stuff wasn’t going to cut it. I made one label for a spice jar, turned my back for a few minutes, and when I turned back around the label was ALREADY peeling off. I guess if you’re only sticking this stuff to paper it will work just fine but if you intend on labeling jars, baskets, shelves, cabinets, or anything else... go ahead and pass on this buy.
