Essential Handy Tools Set: The fuel rail and injector assembly used for the Hitachi SIDI system on 2010 LF1 3.6L V6 and LAF 2.0L ECOTEC has two seals on each injector, and these seals are installed with very tight tolerances. Once the engine has been run, injector and rail removal is very difficult, and the assembly must be removed as straight as possible to prevent the chance of damaging an injector bore in the cylinder head, or to the mount assembly. Each mount assembly contains an isolator, and cannot have any force applied to the mount for removal. Powerful functions: Similar to EN-49248 and compatible with OTC 6706. The tools kit installs in place of the mounting bolts and reaches under the injector rail near each mount location, helps properly remove the direct injection fuel rail. The hand wheels on EN-49248 at each mount location are tightened evenly to un-seat all injectors evenly, preventing damage to the injectors, cylinder head, and rail mount assemblies. Perfectly fits for 2007 - 2014 General Motors Cadillac Saturn Pontiac Chevrolet direct injection engines. Application for 4.3L 3.6L 3.0L GDI V6, 2.5L 2.4L 2.0L GDI I-4. (Note: If you are working on a 5.3L or 6.2L you will need a quantity of 2 sets.) Usage Guide: Step 1. Remove the fuel injection fuel rail noise shield. Disconnect the electrical harness from the fuel rail harness connection. Disconnect all 4-fuel injector electrical connections. Remove the fuel rail assembly retaining bolts. Note: Use care to avoid contact with the fuel rail harness during special tool installation and fuel rail removal. Step 2. Install EN-49248studs (1) into the 2 center fuel rail assembly retaining bolt locations. Tighten the studs to 22-Y(16-lb-ft). Install EN-49248 remover-(2) onto each stud, and engage the hooks to the fuel rail. Install the nuts-(3) retaining there mover onto the studs and tighten until snug. Step 3. Note: EN-49248 will assist in the proper removal of the fuel rail assembly. Ensure that the following conditions are met: Turn the handles simultaneously in order to pull the fuel rail straight out along the fuel injector axis. DO NOT twist when pulling out on the fuel rail and injector assembly. Using EN-49248 remover, remove the fuel rail assembly-(1).
